Chavez Wins Election

Hugo Chavez has won re-election as President of Venezuela by a very large margin. Appearing on the balcony of the Presidential Palace, Mr Chavez spoke to a crowd of elated supporters:

"Today we gave another lesson in dignity to the imperialists, it is another defeat for the empire of Mr. Danger," Chavez roared from a balcony above the crowds using one of the insults he has tossed at the U.S. president.

The former soldier's victory will further rile the White House, which worries about Chavez destabilizing Latin America neighbors and strengthening ties between the OPEC heavyweight Venezuela and U.S. foes Cuba and Iran.

Many of our less uderstanding fellow citizens were quite upset when Mr Chavez spoke to the UN General Assembly and referred to Mr Bu$h as "The Devil," and joked about smelling sulphur where our Great Warrior Leader had stood. It is certain they will be less upset by this new nickname.

A statement of protest is expected later today from Mr Danger's spokesman, Mr Snow.

Thats a great cartoon name!

In unrelated news, The Mustache is resigning as UN Ambassador. What's that song by Queen, "Another One Bites the Dust"?

Is he resigning or just not going back up at the end of the year when this term expires? I guess he didn't want to work for free. I know Crazy Pammy of Atlas Juggs was trying to get a donation fund from winger bloggers to pay for him since he couldn't draw a salary next year. Maybe Mrs Mustache said, "No more Crazy Pammy."

Mr Mustache's theme song should be this.

Personally I like Chavez. As the winter draws near he's the only one to offer help to "money-Challenged" Americans by lowerring the price of fuel oil to them by 40%.

Our own companies (Exxon, Mobil) and our own President should be ashamed of themselves, but, that might require having a conscience.

btw: "money-challenged" is an actual term now employed by the Right, sounds so much better than "poor", doesn't it?

That's the same reason why I like Chavez, too. It's a nice turn on "people diplomacy" that the Bu$hies are always going on about.

Now, myself, I always thought that to Republicans "money-challenged" meant seeing a pile of cash and no one watching it.

Being a life long Socialist and very proud of it. I feel that President Chavez exemplifies what we all believe in. People DO count, and like that old military saw, "every chain is only as strong as it's weakest link", the same goes wether it's governments, or people.. You help those who are for what ever the reason lower on the totem pole than yourself, you help humanity...

Besides I will be voting for Ségolène Royal this coming year in our National elections.. What a lovely leader she will be... Besides having more intelligence in her fingernail clippings than the pResidunce herr George has in his entire body...

Vive le Republique!!
Vive la France

Why, Chief! You old red flagger, you! Where've you been, brah? I haven't seen you around in months. How's your leg? What are you up to? Have you taken any new photos?

I don't talk about it much, but I was raised in the Wobblie tradition.

Hi Lurch, This has been a really rough year around here, Lost the bro in law to cancer just two weeks ago, and the past few months have been a turmoil that I never want to go through again. I have my better half here at present, as there was way too big a load for my pack to carry alone. Sure glad that I chose well in that catagory, as I couldn't have made it through the past 3 weeks without her.

I have shot a little, but not anything like I would like to do, I will be wurking on the page again in the near future, and will be postin more photo's and more music as I get the time.. I believe that Jo Fish visited me the other day, from a spin off at Alternate Brain and Fixer and crew... I want to get up in the mountains and get some of the Oregon wintertime shots that I have been wanting to take forever, hopefully I can get my Tahitian bundled up warm enough to get out a do some things.... She is crabby when she is cold, come to think of it, so am I....

Leg's fine, told ya socialism is the only way to go.. Those socialist Dr's are finer than frogs hair...

Sister is ok, she came out of it better than I ever thought she would. She still has her moments, but I give her credit.. She's a trooper!

Hang in there shipmate, I love visiting, and now the dust is starting to settle, I will be able to drop back in here more often, some one has to keep the goat locker ship shape..

I'm sorry to hear about about your brother in law, Chief. I hope it was (relatively) quick and pain-free; that's a terrible death. My condolences to you, your lovely bride, and especially to his widow.

I look forward to seeing you in print more often, viewing some of your South Pacific photos which are remarkable, and hearing some more of that lovely music which is so attractive.

But I have to say that I've always been troubled by the mixture of old chiefs and goats in the same room,.,.,,.,.,.,.,.
